Rent a private room on this Amtrak train route for just $109 until June

A TRAIN VACATION might be in your future this spring, thanks to this new deal from Amtrak. For those who are thinking of taking a little trip between March 15 and June 30, Amtrak is offering private roomettes on its Auto Train — a train that also accommodates vehicles — at a discounted rate. As long as you book by March 12, you can score a roomette for just $109.

Roomettes come complete with private toilets and a pair of seats that convert into sleeping berths, but you can upgrade to a private bedroom, which is twice the size and features a private shower, for just $249. Both roomettes and private bedrooms include dinner and breakfast.

Amtrak is also offering cheaper fares for coach passengers during the same travel period. You can get a coach seat for as low as $9.

The Auto Train operates a nonstop 855-mile route between Lorton, VA, and Sanford, FL, taking just over 17 hours. Passengers must reserve space in advance. Bringing a vehicle onboard requires an additional fee.

The Auto Train is the only way to take a vehicle with you on a train trip in the US, making it perfect for road trips where you’d like a break from the road.
